There are three program categories in PRC:
One-time or Short-Term Assistance
Emergency Assistance provides one-time financial assistance to aid with emergency situations. You must have at least one minor child or a pregnant woman living in your home and be at or below 165% of poverty to qualify for PRC one-time emergency assistance.
Other important details about the one-time assistance:
Applicants can request aid for more than one emerging need (such as housing and utilities);
Franklin County residents can apply for a maximum of $1,500;
Program money may be used:
To avoid eviction;
For auto repairs and maintenance (for those with a job or other offer);
For utility aid (except for the home heating source utility during the months that other aid programs are in operation);
For driver license reinstatement, in some cases;
For a bus pass in connection with workforce, training, education, job search or employment, with a limit of four months.
Disaster-Related Assistance with PRC
PRC improves our community’s resilience to extreme weather events. Assistance is available to eligible individuals who have sustained damage or losses as a result of a state-declared natural disaster or personal disaster (i.e., house fire, flood, etc.).
For a state-declared natural disaster – if Franklin County is declared a disaster county and is allocated federal disaster funds – the Assistance Group must apply for federal disaster benefits at the local agency designated by the State to receive funding through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
TANF/PRC Projects
TANF/PRC Projects include services that either have no direct monetary value (e.g. job training and education activities, afterschool programs, family support services) or limited cash incentives for the purpose of building family capacity (e.g. IDA accounts, employment retention bonuses, subsidized employment, etc.) These services are intended to build family capacity, promote self-sufficiency, personal responsibility and family stability.
You can find more information about other PRC service categories and view Franklin County’s current PRC Plan here https://jfs.franklincountyohio.gov/getattachment/Emergency-Assistance-(PRC)/FFY18-19-FCDJFS-PRC-Plan-Biennial-Renewal_11-1-17.pdf.aspx?lang=en-US

Governor DeWine announced today that any child care facility that remains open to care for children under a Temporary Pandemic Child Care license must give priority to families on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Placement of children must first be offered to kids with parents who are healthcare workers, first responders, hospital and clinic staff, pharmacy staff, children service workers, adult protection workers, developmental disability aides, mental health counselors, psychiatrists psychologists, nursing home workers, elder care workers, home health care workers, and dentists.
Any remaining childcare openings will be open to other families.
Parents can enroll now. A full list of child care centers operating under the special license can be found at http://jfs.ohio.gov/cdc
